Photography is all about wonder. A way to discover what surrounds us relying on intuition, raising questions and pointing facts relevant to our own curiosity.
I'm interested in the relationship between physical places and the inner worlds, how intense emotions and beliefs inhabit the space we are in. Intrigued by the way we all share common threads that shape our characteristics as individuals.
I came into photography as an assistant to the Maestro Jesús Sánchez Uribe at his studio in Mexico City (2000), specializing in reproduction of paintings, sculpture and old documents, working with large format film as well as the darkroom. Later I made product shots and editorial portraits as a freelancer for different brands and agencies. Throughout my career I attended workshops at the International Center of Photography (New York), I have also been mentored by photographers such as Alex Webb (Magnum), Jerome Sessini (Magnum) and filmmakers like Walter Murch, Dean Cunday (ASC), Rene Castillo, Raul Rodriguez Cabrera (EICTV/Cuba) among others.
La fotografía se basa en la capacidad de asombro. Es una forma de descubrir cosas confiando en la intuición, planteando preguntas y señalando hechos relevantes para nuestra curiosidad.
Me interesa la relación entre los lugares físicos y los mundos interiores, cómo las emociones intensas y las creencias habitan el espacio en el que nos encontramos. Me intriga el modo en que todos compartimos rasgos comunes para definir nuestras características como individuos.
Me inicié en la fotografía como asistente del Maestro Jesús Sánchez Uribe en la Ciudad de México (2000), especializándome en la reproducción de obra arte y documentos antiguos, trabajando con película de gran formato así como en el cuarto oscuro. Posteriormente me convertí en freelance realizando fotografía de producto y retratos editoriales para diferentes marcas y agencias. A lo largo de mi carrera he asistido a diferentes talleres en el International Center of Photography (Nueva York), también he sido alumno de fotógrafos como Alex Webb (Magnum), Jerome Sessini (Magnum) y cineastas como Walter Murch, Dean Cunday (ASC), Rene Castillo, Raul Rodriguez Cabrera (EICTV/Cuba) entre otros.
